I have been a prosecutor for over 15 years, and I love it. While I would not recommend a career as a DA unless you enjoy being in the courtroom and helping people, the DA position is still a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to make some extra money.
To start, you’ll need to complete the application process and be interviewed. Then you will be required to pass a rigorous exam. After passing that test, you will receive an offer for a position in the office.
While you can work in a variety of areas, I would recommend becoming a trial attorney. Trial attorneys prosecute cases in the court system, which means you will be working closely with judges and juries. You’ll also have to do your best to convince them that your client is guilty.
But since you are already in the courtroom, you have the opportunity to work closely with the judge. You’ll be able to gain valuable insights into how judges decide whether or not someone is guilty. You may also be able to learn about the law and legal jargon.
There are also plenty of other perks to being a DA. You can work from home, which gives you flexibility. You can also work at any time of the day or night. And while the pay isn’t the best, it’s still pretty good.
If you are interested in becoming a DA, make sure you check out the application requirements and interview process.
